Goldilocks and the Three Bears Math’s Activities

Use the three display pictures to introduce your children to the vocabulary of size. They can also be used as a sorting activity as the children sort various objects into ‘big’, ‘small’ and ‘medium’.

Children can continue their sorting activities by cutting out the cute bears and placing them into their correct position on the table to allow the children to see them in height order.

If the children need to practise their sorting further, they can do the same with the bowls, chairs and beds.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears Counting

These cute activities will get your little learners counting accurately in no time. Children can count the characters and write the correct numeral, use the count and clip cards and attach a peg to the correct numeral or put the correct number of counters on the themed five and ten frames.

Children will also have lots of fun playing the Goldilocks and the three bears games. One of the games goes up to 10 and one up to 15. Children roll a die and help to get Goldilocks to the three bears cottage. Not only will children improve their counting, they will also improve their subitising skills with the use of a die and their number recognition while counting along the game board.

For more bear counting visit ‘Teddy Numbers‘ , an interactive Topmarks game.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears Patterns

These cute teddy bear pattern cards will support children in continuing a pattern. They can start off with very simple patterns and then progress to more difficult ones, and even make patterns of their own.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears Literacy Activities

Children can use the vocabulary mat to write some of the key words from the story when attempting to write sentences about the story. They can use the cute writing sheets, also in the pack, to write on.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears Pencil Control Activities

Depending on your child’s ability, they can either join the dots, colour the pictures or add the details to the drawings, copying from the example picture.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears Creative Activities

Provide children with paper, card, pens, sticky eyes etc. to encourage children to make their own individual bears.

There are some lovely songs that the children can learn and sing along to – ‘When Goldilocks Went to the House of the Bears‘, and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears‘ by Debbie and Friends.

Still stuck for ideas, then try some of the following:

  • Turn your role play are into the 3 bear’s cottage with different sized bowls, chairs and beds.
  • Add porridge oats to your tuff tray with bowls and spoons. Count how many scoops it takes to fill the different containers.
  • Sort objects into hard and soft.
  • Provide children with loose parts and circle shaped cork boards e.g. place mats, for them to make bear faces with.
  • Use construction kits to build a bed for the bears.
  • Make bears out of dough.
