Welcome to Little Learners Online. We are so glad you are here to join us on an early years journey full of fun, creativity, magic and sparkle.
I am Alison and I absolutely love teaching in the Early Years! One minute you are getting messy with paint, glitter and glue and the next you have taught a little person how to read and write! No two days are the same, and fly by in a frenzy of sand, water and conkers. What better job could there be?
I am a mum of two children and a dog. I have taught in a number of schools and advised private nurseries and childminders. While I have ventured up the corridor to Year 1 and Year 2 on occasion, to see how the other half live, I always return to the Early Years.
I started teaching many years ago and have seen lots of ideas come in and out of fashion while the basic principles of teaching remain the same. The job is no doubt very rewarding but is also a labour of love and one that can take over your life if you are not too careful. Many times I have burnt the midnight oil, planning and making resources, not wanting to compromise on quality no matter what the time.

I have created Little Learners Online to share some of my knowledge, ideas and resources to help the little learners of today reach their full potential and be successful in the future. I firmly believe that if we can give children a good start to their school career it will impact on their future progress and little learners will become lifelong learners. Parents also have a significant part to play and children make most progress when everyone works closely together. We also believe that you can’t do a good job if your job is all you do, so decide what’s worth your energy and leave the rest to us!
