Description
This booklet lists the skills that nursery children should aim to develop prior to starting school. It includes things like:
- putting on a coat
- going to the toilet
- listen to a story
- use a knife and fork
Parents can tick off each skill as they are completed and work on the ones that need a bit more practise with their children. Children can be rewarded for each skill or once they have achieved them all.
These can be given out before school starts in September, perhaps when you meet the new parents in the summer term or send the information and paperwork to parents. Alternatively give them out to parents who’s children need to work on these skills when they start school
